Outreach Update – September 2017

Hurricane Relief – $1000 will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development to aid hurricane victims in the US. $1000 will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development to aid hurricane and earthquake victims in other countries. One of our parishioners who lived in Houston, the Reverend Ray Wilson, has been in touch and will make some specific suggestions as to how we might aid hurricane victims in Texas. These are initial contributions and Outreach may donate additional funds as needs become known.

The Ice Cream Social to benefit Thelma’s Little Fund cleared $1503, a new record!

The Addiction Prayer Pilgrimage will take place on October 22 – at noon in Lilac Park and at 2 pm at St. Joseph’s in Pittsfield where the guests at Cathedral of the Beloved will be able to participate.  Members of Trinity have been knitting hats and scarves for our neighbors and we will give them out at this time.  The next date for Trinity to provide the meal at Cathedral of the Beloved is January 21, 2018.

$250 will be sent to Construct to support their annual fundraiser taking place on October 15.  Construct supports affordable housing in South County.

$250 will sent to the Community Development Corporation of South Berkshire.  The $250 will make Trinity a corporate sponsor of the “Charity Softball Game” taking place on October 22.  Trinity’s logo will be on the tee shirts.  They are looking for baseball players if anyone is interested in taking a turn at bat.

The Elizabeth Freeman Center needs clothing for victims of sexual abuse when they leave the hospital.  Gail Street was authorized to spend up to $200 to purchase clothing.

Lenox Food PantryCindy Nasman who has been coordinator for many years is resigning as of December 31, 2017.   Cindy has served the Pantry with efficiency, treated our neighbors with kindness and warmth and formed good relations with individual donors and various businesses.   The Pantry is open on Saturday mornings and volunteers are needed.

The offering from the Apple Squeeze Ecumenical Service and from the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be donated to the Food Pantry. We raised almost $850!
