Interim Rector Rev. Dr. Randall K. Wilburn
The Rev. Dr. Randall K. Wilburn brings education and training to his role as interim pastor at Trinity. He attended St. Olaf College and Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, and received a master of sacred theology from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas; and a doctor of ministry in psychology from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton, Massachusetts. He has also done postgraduate work at Harvard Divinity School.
Pastor Wilburn spent 3 years with the Sisters of Mercy in Burlingame, California, and is trained as a spiritual director. He had a private practice in marriage and family therapy for 16 years and has experience in helping adults and adolescents recover from addiction. He has worked with prisoners in state and federal prisons. He has been a consultant with Gronlund Sayther Brunkow for 12 years and leads trainings in strategic planning, conflict resolution, and organizational development.
Pastor Wilburn is called by the New England Synod to be an intentional interim minister in congregations. For 37 years, he served congregations in full-time ministry in Wisconsin, Texas, Massachusetts, and California. Since 2005, he has served as an intentional interim pastor at congregations in Worcester, Springfield, and Amherst, Massachusetts. He became Zion’s interim pastor in February 2011.
He lives in Amherst, Massachusetts, with his wife, Karin. They have three children and four grandchildren.
