“This is the heart of my understanding of my ministry as a priest,” relates Fr. Ralph Peterson – “a ministry which culminated in the completion of St. Peter’s Church in midtown-Manhattan in 1979. The highlight of the building was and is the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, an environmental sculpture created by Louise Nevelson in partnership with Fr. Peterson. His experience working with one of the world’s greatest sculptors will be the focus of his lecture at Trinity Church.

Today, nearly forty years later, St. Peter’s has been declared a major New York City landmark and has been identified by The Guardian as one of the most significant places in the world for reflection. A recent Artsy essay listed Chapel of the Good Shepherd as one of eight significant transcendental chapels.
